About
A guild is its people's proof.
The Guild of Jewellery Professionals and Artisans was registered in 2007 and slept. In 2026 the trade asked for what it alone can provide: examinations people trust, a register anyone can check, and a council where every part of the trade has a seat.
What it is
The Guild examines; it never teaches. The syllabus is open — drawn from the law, the science, and the trade's own practice. Anyone may study anywhere, with anyone. The Guild's role begins at the examination and never ends at the register.
It is a registered society (UEN T08SS0044H), governed by its constitution at general meetings, audited by honorary auditors elected by members.
What it is not
Not a school, not a lobby, not a certification mill. It awards nothing it has not examined, and it accredits no course, no vendor, no brand. The word "MinLaw-approved" appears nowhere in its vocabulary — no such approval exists, and the Guild does not imply it.
The years
- 2007
Registered 31 December as a society of the trade. - 2004–2019
Quiet years; a registry entry, a dormancy, a trade that grew without it. - 2019–2026
The PSPM regime arrives; the trade professionalises; the need for per-person proof becomes law. - 2026
The reawakening: a council seated, examinations opened, the register switched on.
The council
Every institution its say, written into the constitution.
